Growing library

Give me a Chapters gift card and I will surley use it to buy more sewing books! Here are the new ones I picked up recently during a buy 3 get the 4th free sale.

From top to bottom:
Here are some of the projects I'm drooling over. From Handmade Beginnings...this cute little hoodie:

From Martha, this stylin' bedcover...

and this ultra-cool Japanese embroidery called sashiko...

from Wendy, I've got my eye on this dress for work...

and am quite intrigued by some of her sewing organization tips.

So...who would like to sponsor me so that I can quit my job and just sew all day long?

  1. Ooh, how fun! I've got Handmade Beginnings on hold at the library, but I'm 3rd on the list! Good luck with your sewing sponsorship! ;)

By the way, I don't have your email address, but I wanted to let you know that the Vancouver Modern Quilt Guild is meeting at 7pm on Thursday, July 15th at Spool of Thread Sewing Lounge. More info here:

  2. those look great! i have a gift card that i should go spend on something similar. i made myself a maternity skirt the other day and i have now made two dresses for ada, so i am starting to feel a little more confident and maybe ready to venture out into the world of wardrobe sewing!

  3. Holly - I can't believe I'm going to miss yet another meeting! And a great excuse to visit Spool of Thread again too! Bummer.

Tara - maternity skirt?!?!?! Did I miss an announcment somewhere or were you just going for the comfort factor (I swear by maternity tights)?

  4. i want to get my hands on 'handmade beginnings' too - what a great-looking book, projects and family. ;-) what sizes does the hoodie go up to? must.make.

    happy sewing!
