Continuing our tour around our little home in Dunedin, today's stop is my sewing studio. Calling it a studio is perhaps a bit grand for it's diminutive size, but compared to the closet I was sewing in back in Burnaby, this room is a palace. I have enough space to do all of my work in here and it's also the easiest room in the house to heat, so it's a very cozy space as well.
wow, what a lovely organized and usable workspace...impressive!!!
ReplyDeleteI'll second that............................very very nice. Thanks for sharing.
Deletelooks so good - my work room is never tidy, there are always piles. I love your peg board idea x
ReplyDeleteEveryone should have peg board in their sewing room. Seriously, it is a fabulous way to organize things when you don't have heaps of space.
DeleteI really like how you've put the pegboard space to such good use. A nice compact studio and it looks so much more inviting than a closet.
ReplyDeleteIt's all about using the vertical space! Thanks for stopping by, Anne.
DeleteFabulously organised and tidy - nice to meet another NZer in Where I sew
ReplyDeleteI love getting a chance to peep into everyone's spaces in Where I Sew! Thanks for saying hello, Julie!

ReplyDeleteGreat ideas! What's in the white covered hamper?
ReplyDeleteAhhhh...that would be my scrap pile waiting to be sorted. I'm a good way through that pile by now, but it's going to take ages to get through it all. Here's a link to the post in which I talk about how SLOWLY it's going: http://milkybeer.blogspot.co.nz/2013/08/slowly.html

ReplyDeleteThis is brilliant. I'm searching for ideas to organize my non-existant personal sewing space, and the peg board is excellent.....how did you make/where did you get the thread holder....organizing thread and bobbins is my BIGGEST HEADACHE!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!!!!!
I bought the thread holder thingy from a big box craft store - Michael's. I see them all over the place so it shouldn't be hard to track one down. It also comes in a narrower version that would be good to get for bobbins.
DeleteOMG..I love this site!!! I have a child with autism but art and sewing is her thing. I am looking to redo her room. Can I please email you if I have any questions. I don't know anything about sewing. I can really use your help on organizing her room.

ReplyDeleteI came across your sewing room from Pinterest, and I love it! The part that especially caught my eye is the color wheel pincushion on the pegboard. Did you make or buy it? Is there a tutorial online? It's so colorful and perfect for a creative space!
ReplyDeleteSå hyggelig et rom du har, her var det mange gode og smarte ideer. Hvor kjøper du det stativet for trå sneller?
ReplyDeleteHa en hyggelig ny uke.
